The same group of girls from the Annual GNO Gingerbread House Showdown decided to get together and go see the lights at Christmas Village in Ogden.
I love this little display of lights. The set up is adorable with all of the little houses around the part with unique little displays, being able to sit on Santa's lap, and listen to cute little singing groups perform at the amphitheater.
Going there always reminds me of when Ryan and I were dating. Let me reminisce for a moment. As many of you know Ryan and I did go to High School together. We really didn't know each other that well (only on a first name basis). After Ryan got back from his mission we both were recruited to participate in a choral group that would perform at various Christmas events (which turned out to be a huge hit and we performed way more than I expected). There were twelve of us, altogether, and it was so much fun. I'm so glad that I did it (despited the fact that I worked retail at the time and don't know how I managed to make so many of the performances... I guess because it is what got Ryan and I together).
Anyway, our little group performed on that very stage. It was a freezing cold night and I remember I was late to the performance (coming straight from work). I hurried and threw off my coat and ran up on stage. What was I thinking!!! It was so cold. As soon as I got up on the stage I realized that I was the only one who had taken off her coat. Ryan was so sweet, and before he went over to accompany us in one of our songs he slipped off is coat and gave it to me. It was so nice, and really caught my attention. Well, you know the story from there, but when Ryan proposed to me, he actually took me to that stage, sang a song that he wrote for me, and then popped the big question.
So, needless to say, I always get a little sentimental at that little park...
*sigh*
Okay...
Back to Christmas Village.
Meeting the Big Guy!
Abby had fallen asleep on the car ride there, so no Santa picture this year... bummer.
Here is Sarah mailing her letter that she "wrote" to Santa.
I wonder if she was confused why we didn't just hand it to him earlier.
The Stroller Gang. Don't they all look thrilled!
Sarah was so happy to be outside, and getting to run around with the guys was a bonus!
This was her ALL NIGHT LONG!
They did stop and peak in the houses (which was the main point of the visit).
I loved how excited the got over the little displays.
She got really excited by this Vintage toy house. Maybe because it was a house full of toys, and the was Raggedy Anne & Andy (which she has grown quite fond of since Halloween).
Abby even decided to get out and Stretch her legs (after she woke up all the way).
Me and the girls.
I love how Sarah's hat is coming off making her look like a little gnome or something.
(Ps - Watch for those hats in a future post)
We tried our hardest to get a picture of all of the kiddos.
But was like herding cats.
(Check out the bottom left, thanks Deb for choking my kid. Just kidding)
It was a fun {freezing} night and I'm so glad I got to go share the magic with the girls this year.

Awww, looks like fun. Sorry we missed it. I love that they have t mailbox for Santa letters but never thought of the kids actually seeing Santa and not giving him the letter. That's funny.
That was a fun night! Wish we could've spent more time together while you were here. I can't wait for you to fly home to stay for good, then I won't feel so bad about hogging you from your fam:) You got some really great pics! All mine were dark and blurred:(
Oh and I loved that story about Ryan purposing to you. I didn't know that. Makes it even cuter how Sarah wanted to go down and sing with the kids on the stage. Just like her mama and daddy:)
I didn't know Ryan proposed to you there! That's so sweet. I do remember how cold it was that night way back in the day. What were we thinking? (Why were we singing there anyway?) I love your little girls rosy cheeks. Looks like it was a big hit! I'll have to take my kidlets there next year.
Cute pictures. I didn't realize the history behind that place! You should have mentioned it while we were there! Sorry I chocked Abby, it's just how I move June from one place to the other these days. :)
We enjoyed the lights as well. Next time your in O-Town, come visit since we're just 4 blocks away from the Christmas Village.
