$1.00

Yup, that is how much I paid for each of these dresses. I love clearance racks!!!

See?!!

Smokin'! So now my girls are all set for Christmas dresses for next year, and a couple of dresses for Abby right now (I found a cute floral one that is the same as the center pink dress, but she already wore it and so it missed the photo shoot). Keep your eyes out for the clearance racks at Walmart.

Happy MLK Day!

HAPPY MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY!!!

So, we didn't do it this year, but next MLK Day we are having a Milkshake party. The abbreviation looks like milk, so what a better excuse than that to have a Milkshake party... I'd advise you to do the same. ;)

We had a really fun time with our three day weekend. On Friday our family went to the Carnegie Science Center.  Sarah was WAY excited to be out doing something fun with Daddy. Mom has kind of been a lame hermit since we got home and so she really enjoyed the change of scenery. It was lots of fun and we even got to see a "Star Show" and learn about science while watching (and the eating) a Fruit FlambĂ© demonstration.

They have an exhibit right now all about Robotics. This robot that Sarah is looking at, mimics your facial expressions. It even did a perfect impression of a Sarah Scuz... it was hilarious.

There was also an Air Hockey table where you played a robotic arm. It is a good thing we didn't discover this until we were on our way out, or I might have been there all day. You can't win, the robot blocks every shot. But being the competitive person I am, I tried a dozen times or so... it was useless.

Saturday we got some projects done around the house and kind of just hung out. We were really craving some Rialto's Pizza (from this post), but instead of blowing the budget, we tried to create the pizza ourselves. It was close, next time I am sure we will get it spot on.

That is Creme Soda...

On Sunday I got really brave and decided to make Chicken Under a Brick... and DEBONE A CHICKEN!!!! I was very proud that I did it, and it tasted DELICIOUS!!!

Here is my bird all cooked up!

And on Monday night we went over to the Lingwall's house (the couple from our "blind date" before we came home to Utah). We played a game called Pandemic, it was really fun, I would recommend that as well.

It was a great weekend and we were rather spoiled with how much time we got to spend with Ryan.

Yeah for 3 day weekends!!!

Dear Sarah,

I love you!

Thanks for always being such a good big sister. You are the best helper. Always trying to get Abby to be happy when she is fussing. I love to watch you comforting your baby sister. Thanks for always laughing to make Abby giggle and sharing your favorite toys to distract her and cheer her up. I am happy you are in our family.

Love, Mom

Abby covered with toys that her sister brought her to help her stop crying before she fell asleep.

I love my FAMILY!!

Who couldn't love these guys?

My friend from high school, Alisha {Hansen} Siddoway took some cool pictures of my family while we were in town. She finished editing them, so I figured I'd post them to share. :) You can check her out HERE.

Here are some AMAZING pictures of the girls. I love them all!

She is getting so big, sitting up and all alert!

My favorite of Abby!

Love the colors.

This is so precious! I love it!

I'm a Slacker... I know

Sorry Friends and Family (but mostly to the Grandmas). I have been busy catching back up on life here in Pittsburgh (mostly on housework). We have been busy changing things around the house and trying to make an impact on the draftiness of the home by winterizing it a little more (still have a lot of work to do...).

I will try my hardest to make a some time to update the blog next week. Ryan and I have made a few family goals and some of them take away from my blogging time. Maybe I will give in and let Sarah take naps now and then so I can get a post or two in during the week.

In the meantime, all is well, the family is great. We love and miss you all!

P.S. - This is a funny bumper sticker we saw today.
"Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes.
That way, if they get mad, you'll be a mile away... and they'll be barefoot."

Eat Up Abby!

Well, Abby had her first taste of baby food... hehehe... she hated it! Oh well. I thought she would be more open to the idea, but no. I am in no hurry, she seems to be surviving fine with out it. I just would like to give her something at dinner time when all she wants to do is play with my food. Here is some shots of the event.

"Yuck Mom! What is that stuff?"

She preferred chewing her bib...

And trying to get the camera. Check out the blue in those eyes!

Maybe she'll like it next time. ;)

Origami Box

Start by taking a square piece of paper.

This is a 12x12 inch piece of scrapbook paper (good weight of paper to use).

Step 1: Find the center of paper and fold all corners into the center.

You can cheat by folding the paper in half both ways and making a little crease to find the center.

Step 2: Fold two sides of paper into the center.

Step 3: Repeat in other direction

Step 4: Unfold recent folds and pull out two opposite corners.

Refold the sides in, it will make it easier for the next fold.

Step 5: Fold corner (arrow #1) to center (arrow #2).

Repeat with other corner on the same side.

Step 6: Fold down flap to create box side.

Step 7: Repeat with other side.

Step 8: Fill with goodies and share!
