Meet "Elephant"

So when I was doing laundry on Monday I found TWO of Ryan's socks that had holes in them. So, what better thing to do than turn them into a Sock Monkey...er, I mean Elephant (the sock colors just weren't right for a monkey).

Since Sarah went to bed at 6:45pm last night, I got to do some crafting, my kitchen is still a mess and I have a long list of to dos that are still waiting, but I got some crafting therapy in to help me be happier. I have like three projects for the house that I am working on, but I wanted to do something fun for Sarah.

She was soooo excited this morning! She wouldn't put it down for anything. I have been asking her periodically throughout the day what she wants to name her and she keeps insisting "Elephant" (despite all the cute names I toss at her).

She has a cute little tail with black yarn coming out of it.

I am debating embellishing the dress or not. It is kind of plain...maybe I'll sew some matching ribbon around it or something. Oooo, or ric-rack. That'd be cute. We'll see. She'll probably just stay like this.

So fun to make something for my little cutie!

One more thing, here is my first attempt at a 'princess' do.

The bun turned out super cute!

But the twisty rows...not so much. I think I know what I did wrong, I think I can get it next time.
So much fun! I love it!

Yeah, what IS it with kids giving their stuffed animals boring names? I can't get Jeffrey to call his Bat Tiger anything but Bat Tiger, and William gets livid if I don't refer to his bear as just Teddy.

And did you make that whole elephant out of just two socks?

cute sock elephant! You should do a tutorial on how you made it. Dustin always has holes in his socks...
and cute hair do too, you'll have to give me some pointers when my little girl gets some hair on her head :)

I don't know if I am good enough to make a tutorial... but I'll think of about it! Maybe if I come across another pair tomorrow (yup...its already laundry day again!)

Ash, Deb, you are funny!

WWLD? Maybe if I get good at craftin' or do it on a more regular basis and want to stop clogging personal blog with it, I'll title it that! Ha!
