Double Trouble!

I can not turn my head for a second.

Not with this little one on the loose...

I will NEVER have a clean house when she is awake! (or asleep... lets be honest here)

Oh, and sorry Kitty, no more treats upstairs...

I have a feeling that I am going to be exhausted keeping up with this little one!

Sarah's Fairy Village Cake

In the Family Fun magazine for this month they had a special blurb about fairies and even had a fairy village for a birthday cake, when Sarah saw this she was in love and knew exactly what she wanted for her birthday cake.

So... here it is...

Yeah, yeah, they are SOOO not perfect, but it was my first decorated fairy cake village, so cut me some slack.

Here is a little tour of the village...

The rustic butter biscuit bungalow,

 (with an "everpink" pine tree)

the simple sugar wafer chalet.

and my favorite, the cozy cupcake cottage.

(check out the cute little toadstools! I love 'em)

The roof was supposed to have these on the top.

But, they were out of chocolate nonpareils at the store so I had to improvise.

Chocolate dipped mini vanilla wafers with sprinkles.

Yup, totally copied each house, no originality here. It still was fun and Sarah sure was excited to have her own fairy village for her birthday cake.

Thanks Family Fun for the great idea!

PS - Sarah's birthday is actually on Tuesday, but we decided to do a webcam birthday celebration with the grandparents so we made the cake today. More pictures to come of her Birthday!

We just love Tea Parties

Ahem, I mean Hot Cocoa parties.

Sarah's friend Taylor said that Jesus doesn't like it when we drink tea, so we had a hot cocoa party with her instead. Sarah loves any excuse to get the tea set out. And I love any chance to get cute pictures of her and friends.

I printed out these cute tiaras...

and crowns from First Palette, very cute!

They were so excited! Sarah couldn't even stay in her chair.

Queen Taylor

Princess Sarah

King Ty

Prince Trevor

The girls dressed up in princess costumes and watched a Barbie Princess movie while the boys and I played catch.

Luckily Abby slept for half of the time that the kids were here. I am crazy, having FIVE kids under the age of FOUR (three were one and under!). But it was fun, the kids were all good and we enjoyed being kings and queens for the day! Thanks for letting me have your kids over to play Julia!

I still love you Lynxie-Lou...

But, sometimes I want to do more...

Wouldn't you like Jan N. Ome to come and live next to you?
I hear she is really fun.

So, please, be happy if we win a new addition to craft family.

The DIY Dish ladies are starting a series of video crafting... for free and to celebrate they are giving away TWO Janome Machines, a sewing machine and an embroidery machine. Cross your fingers for me... it is a long shot... but sometimes dreams do come true, right Disney?

Twenty-One

Nope, not the card game... that is how many inches of SNOW fell over night. It started snowing yesterday afternoon and by about 7-8pm it was really starting to stick. We had 21 inches by the time Ryan and I went out to tackle the shoveling at about 8:30-9am. I can't remember the last time we got dumped on that much in UTAH!!!

The news said that we were supposed to get 8-12 inches... I think they were just a little off. They also said that we haven't had a storm this bad since 1993... of course, it had to be the first record setting storm in years our first winter here!

Yes, we got so much snow that as I was shoveling the front walk I literally saw a woman SKIING down our street! She was completely decked out, snow goggles and all. When I talked to her she said, "Got to enjoy all of this pretty snow." Hope she enjoys it enough for the both of us, because the girls and are are staying in!!!

Here are some pretty pictures to enjoy.

Shot out our front door.
That is supposedly our walk way... haha!

Poor bush...

We lost our driveway in the storm too!
Its down to the right of the railing.

We barely could get our side door open.
Check out the pile on our trash cans!!!

Oh it only took a little over 2 hours for FOUR people (our neighbors came out and helped)  to shovel our walks and the shared driveway. YIKES!!!

And yes, it is STILL snowing!

Fabric Doll Houses

Here are the Fabric Doll Houses that I made for the girls for Christmas (finally).

I think they turned out way cute, but I am biased. I used THIS tutorial for the pattern. It was easy and pretty quick to make. I just found out that she got this pattern published in a book, "One-Yard Wonders" which sounds like my kind of book. I may just have to splurge on that one.

Anyway, they open up to a cute little play area.

Perfect for little *bear families to live.

But do you want to know what my favorite part is?

The handles.

My mom's awesome Bernina (which sews like a dream and I am soooo envious of) does some pretty awesome stitches.

Like...

Daisies...

and even BOWS!!!

So, cute. The best part is watching Sarah tote them around the house and play with the little bear families. I just love it! Hopefully it is something that the girls will treasure for years to come.

Abby's

and Sarah's

*PS - Thanks Mom & Dad for the Bears, it made the houses perfect!!

Princess Play-date

Sarah has been lonely. So what better cure to loneliness than a play-date?

A PRINCESS PLAY-DATE!!!!

We set up the Princess Castle

Colored Princess Pictures

Had a Princess Tea Party

With lots of Giggles...

Silly Faces...

and lots of adorable memories!

Sarah loved it, Makay loved it and I LOVED IT!!! It was a great play date, and what better way to end the day than to make dumb-dumb flowers.

Thanks Makay for coming over and playing!
